Please, can the tray area in Windows 10 Anniversary Update release be fixed?
Sunday, November 13, 2016 by LightStar | Discussion: WindowBlinds
Before the Anniversary update release of Windows 10 the horizontal taskbar tray area used to show the time and date only in the tray area, regardless of taskbar height. After the anniversary update tons of skins, if the taskbar ended up being over 44 pixels in height, have the tray area showing the time, day and date. It is also not centered vertically on the taskbar in almost all cases.
If I adjust the top and bottom text margins of the taskbar buttons to get the final taskbar height to 44 pixels or less, the problem goes away in almost all cases. Microsoft totally screwed up on this, so can anything be done with Windowblinds to fix this problem? I would have to go back and ruin the look of almost 85-90% of my skins just to fix this issue, and that would be a bit ridiculous. This also limits creativity on new skins.
Thanks ahead of time!

Okay, so when I use the Default Windows 10 Theme the Clock/Date displays as: HH:MM PM and MM/DD/YYY with no day of week name in the middle. With most themes it tosses in the Day of the week in between those two and looks too big for the area.
The default Windows 10 theme doesn't display the day of the week by name until the taskbar is enlarged. I think Windows 10 behavior is entirely tied to the Taskbar height, as it doesn't appear there is a separate Taskbar Tray area size definition.
I think making Themes Windows 10 compatible is going to take some additional work/constraints.

Correct.
Windows 10 behavior is entirely tied to the Taskbar height,
There is a taskbar height adjustment. Making the taskbar lower will stop the DAY from showing.
In SKS. Edit startmenu and taskbar/Edit horizontal taskbars/ Taskbar buttons. Go to the bottom click on Text. Changing the TOP to a lower number will get rid of the Day showing on Win10. Don't forge after changing the number you have to click Apply.
Not totally sure this is the info you are looking for so if not forget about it.
I realize this isn't what Tom wants but just some additional information for those who would like to use it.

Yeah, I know how to fix it, but as it is screwing up tons of already designed skins and limiting designer creativity, I am hoping Stardock can do something that will fix Microsoft's stupidity.

I'll make sure Neil sees this.
I think you guys are great.
I started digging into the settings options and there is nothing that I saw to tell Windows not to display the day of the week by name. There may be a way to tell it what taskbar pixel height to use for displaying it.
I thin this one will take some digging to find the setting for it.

Unfortunately Microsoft have changed things and it is what it is.
The best we can do is add padding per line to make it less likely to decide to put more in a line which will be in WB 10.51
This will be defined as
[Taskbar.Clock]
ClockLinePadding =

Ya the clock has become a bit unruly. I think it would be really cool if they could build an option into WB Config for the user to choose which and how many lines of it he wants to show - Stardock impressed me so much with the new "ribbon" option that of course now I'm wondering what else they might be able to tweak within WBConfig
