Why Didn't Stardock Think Of This
great idea

Okay, just kidding. Stardock can't do/think of everything; however, this nifty little tool from Nurgo Software is pretty cool.... not to mention somewhat useful.
Yup, TidyTabs adds tabbed browsing to Windows Explorer and programs such as Word, Notepad and others.
While the program does detect tabbable programs, there is a whitelist and blacklist to either add your own or remove those you don't need or use.
I got is earlier and am quite chuffed at how useful it is.... having just one explorer page open with multiple instance open in tabs. Just what the doctor ordered., eh!
While this one is freeware, there is also a pro version with some additional options.

The freeware is pretty limited, Mark...which is why I never bothered with reviewing it...
Usually the free versions are...true for Windowtab (3 tabs per app).
As for Clover... I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. It's a Chinese Co. (not necessarily bad), but Emisisoft found this:

Well I'll be!!! There are other programs with the same or similar features.
So where have I been all this while?
When I stumbled upon TidyTabs I thought I'd come across something new... newish, and wanted to share my discovery with other Stardockians
Oh well! It's the thought that counts.

Hey Doc, I'm currently trialing the Pro version of TidyTab, which users can purchase for USD$9.00 if they like it enough. If not, well they can always go back to the free version if they so choose. Thing is, 3 tabs per app may be all the average home user would ever need, and 9 bucks isn't too bad a price if more are needed.
As for Clover, well I know little about it and wouldn't stake my reputation recommending it after some tech journalists gave it negative reviews. I at least have tried Tidy Tab and am pleased with it thus far.

Starkers, totally agree with you about the usefulness of TidyTabs. Found it a couple of months ago and bought the Pro version and enjoy it a lot!

Glad you found something which helps and that you like, Mark. ![]()
I wouldn't touch Clover if you paid me. I hope TidyTabs works out for you...if you really like it, $9 isn't that bad for the full app.
I'd say there's always an alternative, but the old favorite QTTabBars hasn't been updated since 2015...

Thanks, Doc.
Yeah, 9 bucks is a fair price, and thus far I've liked using the Pro trial version, so I'll likely purchase it to maintain the added functions.
Now that I remember it, I did read about QTTabBars some while ago. I didn't think much on it at the time, maybe because I didn't see a need for such a program, but now that I have TidyTab I very much see the benefits of having tabs in Explorer, etc.
And to think, yesterday I thought I was on to a new idea.
