Why We Need iPhone Users

like really need them.

If for nothing else, a fechen good laugh.

Forget the tech and the fanboi stuff, a fechen good laugh is all that's required

Like they say, laughter is the best medicine.... and this story healed most of my pain and woes earlier today

Frankly, I don't remember when I laughed so much... like who in their right mind [right mind being the operative term here] drills a fechen 3.5mm hole in a phone to create a headphone jack... and then expects it to miraculously work?

I mean, really, the 'hole' still needs the internal connections to create working headphones, so where were these users 'brains?

Oh, that's right, they bought an iPhone 7... as it turns out. that question need not be answered.

Anyway, iPhone users forgive me, but I couldn't help but piss myself laughing when I read the story and no offense is intended,

If people are dumb enough to drill holes in their phones they get what they deserve.

Nothing to do with being an iPhone user. There are a lot of dumb folk out there

Yeah, anyone foolish enough.... and the world is overflowing with nutjobs who'd bugger up good tech on poor... read very bad suggestions.

And no, they don't have to be iPhone users.  I also read about the bloke who put his Samsung 7 phone in the freezer because somebody put it online that it would prevent the battery from exploding.  Not only did his phone not work again, the battery still exploded anyway.  Best thing would have been to submit the unit to the well publicised factory recall, but some will always take the foolish option because they saw the 'answer' online.

Still, it is so, so laughable that anybody would fall for such an 'out there idea'.

The difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has its limits.

How true.... and genius usually knows when to stop.  The opposite is rarely true.

I recall when stupidity ruled my life.... I married 3 times.

I never became a genius, but I knew when to stop... at 3rd time unlucky.

Still, I have no regrets.... just some memories I can do without.

As for the iPhone 7, I have an 11 year old granddaughter who wants one for Christmas.  Yeah right, like her mother could afford a AUD$1200 phone.  With other priorities and 4 other kids it just ain't happening.  If a phone is in the offing, and that's a big if, it'll be a $50 supermarket job that's linked to one of the major telcos.

Me, I've still got my Nokia Lumia 820 from about 8 -9 years ago.  I'm of the philosophy, if it still works don't buy a new one... tho I do have a ZTE with Android that I picked up for $45 as a 'just-in-case'.

You know for about $8 bucks you can buy a dongle that has a Lightning Port to 3.5mm Female Audio Jack Headphone Cable Adapter.

I clicked the link. It's a beautiful dongle. I want one. Unfortunately, I don't own an iPhone so buying this adapter wouldn't make sense... I wonder if there is something else they can remove from the iPhone. It should be possible to make it even thinner. Of course that would take a lot of courage

One can wonder if drilling a hole in the iPhone is stupidity or frustration. For tinkerers there are better devices.

EDIT: Saw the video. That was stupid...

Talk about idiots...seriously...some guy, whom no one knows, gets online and tells them to drill a hole in their phones.

And they did it! Then the fools actually post how stupid and angry they are that they bricked their phones!

We should ask him to make no posts about how to fly by gluing feathers on one's arms and eating bird food, or soon it will be raining bloated idiots.

Alternatively...he might "teach" folks how to cure headaches permanently by drilling holes in their heads.

Somebody better take his drill away from him before he decides to "convert" something with a little more punch

As I understand it, that dongle is included in the box with a new iPhone 7.

I know someone stupid enough to do that, believe it or not. This dude wanted to see what was inside a bic lighter so......holding the lighter in one hand he used a pocket knife to open a hole in the bottom of the lighter. He made a hole alright. The lighter went one way and the pocket knife went the other leaving a nice gash in his hand. I nearly pissed myself I laughed so hard. True story.

Maybe if we told these folk their stupidity could be cured by drilling a hole in their head they would actually do it!

I would speak to my first wife and the mother of my children, but sadly she passed on 2 years ago.  The second, well I don't know where she is these days and don't care to.  Things ended badly when I discovered she was abusing my kids while I was at work, so it's best we remain distant.  The third, well I speak with her every day and we are the best of friends... which is handy because we happen to live under the same roof.
