where you can go in an actual chat... something to do with stardock... do you have to pay for this tho?

Do you need the Wincustomize subscription to connect to the server though? I connect using Bersirc and BitchX (depending on what computer/OS I'm on/in,) myself...

No. You can connect via any IRC client. The server is at irc.stardock.com, port 6667.
