What's the meaning of "Rating" in "My Skins"?

The rating is what the people who rated you think what your work is worth. 1-10, 10 being the best.

The infamous rating scale.....I was an eager citizen wanting to show my work on the wallpaper gallery. I would look at the ranking and think it was everything.....but as I started (being a complete novice mind you) I would kick myself because it wasn't rated very good. Slowly but surely as I learn to be a better designer that the ranking gets better but it started to mean very little to me. I take comfort in the comments that people post and just knowing that I get to contribute to the best skinning site on the net...that's pretty freakin cool.

Just make things that you like and are truely your imagination...and most of all have fun

I would have to agree that sinning is addictive.............

I used to go ballistic about the ratings, but time and cooler heads have helped me to see the light....

My overall rating hee is only 7 but as far as comments go I have over 500 with only having submitted 37 walls. I would much rather have those comments then a higher rating

I personally look at downloads. I post my skins so people will use them. That's my gratification

I'd have to agree with jcg.... the comments are nice, the ratings are worthless, but we want people to actually use what we create so the download totals are the bottom line. They may not ultimately use it anyway but they did download it... hehe

Like a moth to a flame is me and rating threads.

The rating system is based solely on favoritism and brown-nosing.

Your opinion only, flawed as it is...

Personally I am usually disappointed by the level of feedback and ratings received. It seems random really how much feedback you get. My Purple Glass theme and abjects were far more innovative than the calendar I just greated but noone gave any ratings and comments were few.

Guess I need to brush up on my PR skills if I'm going to get hung up on ratings!

Delicious is a rateaholic

I tried not to post anything but just didn't have the willpower to resist. I can backup the accusation I made and was going to but then decided not to bring anyone's name or skin examples to the front.

Yeahhhh!!!!

Hmm, now there's a theory. Maybe if changed my name to Miss/Ms/Lady _Martine_ my skins would be more popular
