kona197, that was my intention. My comment was not aimed at you, but your line of thinking, your train of thoughts.
US citizens still harp about something that happened one and a half years ago. How many people died in that attack, four thousand? Five thousand? Ten? Did you know that more than thrice that have died in less than a decade in Jammu and Kashmir (all from one single community of Kashmiri pandits)? Do you know that on 12th March, 1993, the economic hub of India, Mumbai (then Bombay) experienced thirteen (13) earth shattering bomb blasts, and yet, the next day, the whole of Mumbai went to their jobs, schools, colleges, etc? Did you know that this week, there were 24 deaths (in one night) in a village in Kashmir, children, women and men gunned down by terrorists? Did you know that two weeks back there was a bomb blast in a Mumbai suburban local transport train which killed 20 people, all innocent civilians? Did you know that I was supposed to be on that train and missed it due to an engagement that lasted longer than I expected? Hell, these are only the incidents I remember, recollect and have experienced. There are many more in India and there are thousands of others around the world... Do you even care? You don't because you are not affected... and you expect sympathy and understanding from us. Yet we do understand, because we have been through the same. I just pray that others would do the same. We all need to show a bit of understanding.

Hey paxx, I know the startegic importance of taking out Iraqi TV, in fact I am amazed that the US resisted this temptation for so long.
But what I do not like is people accusing the Arabic channels of potraying the war in a manner that it sounds like (is; in fact) Iraqi propoganda. The western channels are no better. Their reporting is as biased. They should remember that when you point one finger at others, there are three fingers pointing at you.

First of all you guys can point your minds and typing somewhere other than me. I guess I am ignorant. I don't usually think about the worlds problems unless it happened here in the US. My comment of "Who could stop us?" will probably get me hanged. For what it is worth, I'm sorry. I got caught up in the moment.

@shu.. you comment about harping isn't about to win any converts sad to say or any un impinged understanding either...
History is a living thing, even if we as a nation do not totally grasp that concept. 9/11 is etched in peoples minds, the emotions, fears, anger, hate, need to lash out, everything it evoked sits right under the surface in many. Many do not even htink of it much anymore on a daily or even regular basis, life has resumed, reality has set in, people are in financial situations that consume them and their thoughts, birthdays, deaths, war, all these things are the reality of the moment, but 9/11 sits there, smoldering, waiting, building, it will not be forgotten out of hand, it will not be forgotten for a very long time for many if ever. It *is* a trigger point that needs be addressed in a thought out and possibly mapped out manner in which to discuss it without triggering a negative response which will take days or longer to broach, if ever. Unless one is seeking such a situation in the first place...
anyway, just some thoughts, I know you do not mean to be little the issue in any manner, and only wish to address things as a whole, but with certain things only being faced on a singular level, one must pcik the places they put their feets if they really care to end up with a positive outcome with the intended interaction...
I know, blah blah blah....

something that doesn't happen very easy at all with/for me...
I was just pointing outsome thoughts on the emotional cogntive state revolving around 9/11 is all, and did not mean any offense with it either.
Slow to anger long to let go and at time hard to apease, anger, fear, rage, hate, seems very American historically and also on a family level.
For instance, my older brother used to tell/explain to his friends and such who were bigger and older than me, if he does or says something and needs to be smacked for it, tell me and I will do it, if you do it I *will* break you...
I was not up to anyone else to lay a hand on me but him, no one had that right and even if I was totally wrong, if they laid a hand upon me I would still end up slapped silly, but they would pay for taking upon themselves a right that was not theirs. Odd, I know, but he did not allow anyone to touch me outside the house where he *could* control it, not until he was 16 could he make a difference at home until he was kicked out of the house...
But is it the same pretty much for older brothers and sisters on a level, no one touches the kid sister or brother.

maybe that fits my family in some respects, we never did depend on the law to make things right. You did/do not do wrong by us or we will make it right if only in our own minds... Personal respect is earned, public respect is given freely, but if crossed there is a price to pay. Maybe that is whats wrong with our societys youth today and the ignrant acts they perpetuate. "I can do what I like when I like and if you touch me you'll go to jail" well, every now and then they run into someone who doesn't care about jail and then they learn a lesson about human nature, one that might give them pause the next time around they have a comment or decide something will be funny or fun at others expense?
anyway...
Something I do find rather odd is selective memory and specific use of history to build upon ones opinions. WWI and WWII the USA did play a key part in freeing France, but further back in history France also had a large part in freeing the USA...
Now here it is 100's of years later and the people the USA fought a war with for it's freedom is our best friends while the ones who helped us gain that same freedom are now seens as below us... odd?
I know it is more dynamic than that, but seems to be presented so many times as "We are the reason France was freed from the NAZI" which is partially true, yes, we did play a major part in that..
But isn't that a bit of a selective and subjective use of history for personal needs?

Ok, I'm not reading the "1080 posts". But I'm going to say that I know people that are over there and they so badly want to come home. Plus some of the stuff that's been going on, they've seen many of their friends get killed or become POW. I just wish they took care of this faster. To be honest, it should of been done many years ago. And all these other countries that didn't want us to go in, the reason for that is because once we get in there and find the weapons. They will say who they are made from. Then more hell will go on. It will never end. And I think this is the beginning of WWIII. Like it would lead up to it with the actions going on now. But I give probably 5-15years maybe before that even attempt to go on.
