i'm not condemning, blaming nor judging anyone here. As I said in my very first post, I'm just trying to get as many informations as I can from any kind of news support taken from different countries.
I'm trying to be as objective as I can. For ex, I won't say that france has always been right during his history nor I would say that I'm pro-chirac. I'm just trying to find pro and con in each part (for ex here between pro-war and anti-war) just to make my own opinion.
How could I have a partial opinion just reading french news ?

Alo, "I think that USA really doesn't know the horror of war." Not nationally on its own soil in the modern era like Europe, Asia or other places. And that fact does have an impact on attitudes, I believe. Previously in the 20th Century it was always "over there." That's not quite the sense now, however, which has come as a bit of a shock. Although due to the variety of our population, immigration and ancestry, many people here now do know something of the horrors of war from a civilian point of view, either first hand from their own experience or from their parents or grandparents.
I recall one of the people I know most freaked out by Sept 11 was a young fellow from another country. He was in shock. He said, "We came here to live in peace, because America was safe. Now nowhere is safe." Many of our ancestors came and stayed in the US for the same reasons, not out of a desire to engage in world conquest, as some would assert. Even after Sept 11 there are people here who did not support the entry into Afghanistan and do not support this upcoming action.
Again, the population of the USA is not monolithic in composition or views or experiences. Something people in other countries sometimes like to forget when they speak of the evil Americans. Or perhaps they were referring to the Peruvians?

I watched a program on TV last night on PBScalled Journey of Man. It showed threw DNA how we were all related and came out of the middle east. Something to think about or not.

A man was caught near my government leased housing that was carrying three backpacks with what appeared to be pipe bombs. His country of origin.....Afghanistan.
He was earlier seen at a near by coast guard base asking for directions to where "the Marines" live.
To think that I am getting scolded hear while my wife is at home worried if she can ever go get the mail;p
Like I said Jafo, I did not intend on hurting anyone's feelings here, sometimes reality hurts and not everyone wants to except it but as with life and "my day to day" reality I move on.
Now that I think of it I am insulted by a lot of the things said here and that's okay because I understand the nature of the topic is really sensitive and not to mention that we are all from different walks of life in differnent countries and things don't seem to come across the way they were intended (believe me cuz my wife tells me that all the time)

It's illogical to think that a nuclear power plant at the size that Iraq was having built by the French was going to be used for electricity production.
When the US was assisting Iraq, it was under the terms that any weapons or technologies in trade were to be used for defensive measures. Once the Iran / Iraq war was concluded, it was obvious that there was a reduced need for the mass defensive weapons systems. When Iraq took aggression and Invaded Kuwait (whom had liberated themselves from Iraq witht eh assistance of the UK) that was the manjor deciding factor that SoDamn Insane was going to become a global menace.
Part of the US being at the front of this innitiative is that we are responsible to a degree in which our past involvement with Iraq has manifested itself. It is our responsibility to protect the rst of the world against Iraq's use of any of the weapons or technologies which we were involved with.
With regards to the French initiative in building the Nuclear plant, it was well known at the time that Chirack and his people were well aware of what the Iraqi's intent was for the plant. They were aware that there was extreme opposition to it, and yet they scoffed off all responsibility. (This is still occurring today and a major contributing factor to France's stance in the UN... Chirack simply will not admit that he had done wrong and made a mistake.)

Jafo, the news has mentioned the Australian troops quite a few times. It's the first time that I've seen much mention of the Aussie troops over there.
