I've been privy to a lot of information otherwise unknown to the general public and I can't agree with you more KarmaGirl.
It's hard for another country to really see the stance America is taking as a result of 9-11 but we aren't going to be occupied, we aren't going to make side deals, we aren't going to write IOU's, and we are not going to allow another 9-11 take place.......not as long as I am able to fight nor the rest of the US and allied forces who are commited in liberating the oppressed and aiding countries who are just not strong enough to fight for themselves.
I've trained with French soldiers and they are as tough as they come but what good are they when their politicians are scared little men. I'm not trying to single them out but they just stand out to me more then any other country that is just friction when it comes to the situation with Iraq, I am not brainwashed and I get more information then the masses so I don't need to watch the news because we probably know before hand anyways.

Latest news: France announced about an hour ago that they would revise their position and help the USA if Saddam Hussein was to use chemical or biological weapons.
Also, the US announced that they would attack Irak even if Sadam Hussein left the country.

Just curious...Last night Bush said that if saddam and his brothers didn't leave, we would attack. Now, today, he's saying it doesn't matter and what he said last night means nothing?

FYI: a survey made tuesday shows that 85% of the French population think that Chirac's position is "justified" and 80% think it's "courageous".

I call them as I see them and I could care less what you think of that....and I find it really strange how a country that claims they don't have WMD and chemical weapons would now use them if they are attacked. Isn't that strange to any of you? It's even worse for me to think that countries (France) who said that the US has not proved that Saddam poses a threat is now hearing it from the horses mouth that he will in fact use these weapons.
The reason France will help "now" is to save face because they new all along that Saddam had them but they didn't want to play ball....it's simply a matter of not being told "I told you so" by the US making them look bad.

Paxx, actually what France said was: "If the war starts and if (President) Saddam Hussein uses chemical or biological weapons, it would change completely the situation for the French president and for the French government, and President (Jacques) Chirac will have to decide what we will do to help the American troops to confront this new situation."
It's a bit vague since they said that they will *then* need to decide what they will do.
Saddam already stated that he has no plans of leaving, so it really is just a matter of when things will happen at this point.

Even if Sadam leaves Iraq the US President has made it clear that they intend on going into destroy weapons of mass destruction and would seek Iraq's co-operation in doing so. to suggest that they would drop bombs on bagdad if they left is wrong and out of context.

Certain members of the Australian Media in Iraq are really pissed because they are being ordered out.
Tough about that, the Media have no place in a War Zone and they have no concept of how they are compromising our Intel Sources by chasing 'the big story' .... I never had much time for Maggie Thatcher but her stance re the media and the Falklands Campaign was brilliant.
The Navy controlled communications ergo the navy controlled the media .... the conduct of warfare should be right out of the hands of politicians and civilians.
And yes, it's a different picture you and I are getting by the hour.

i picked up my newspaper yesterday and found that someone in my neck of the woods painted "scum, go back to France" on the garage door of a French immigrant lady in town. "Freedom fries" may have had a trace of humor in it, but this definitely isn't funny.
When Lord Cornwallis would have escaped from Yorktown in the Revolutionary War, the French fleet blockaded the coast and left him with no choice but to surrender and end the war. If he had escaped with his army, there is no telling how much longer the war would have gone, and even what the ultimate outcome might have been. People should remember this. ( yeah, yeah, they gave us a few "headaches" during the French and Indian Wars, but we're still buds).

All jokes aside I think everyone here is pretty cool and regardless in the differences of opinion we are all still a community of artists whether novice or expert and I just hope we stick together.
If we can unite when another site is flat out ripping the work of artists who belong to WC and we as one voice flat out shut them down, then I would hope and pray we can make it through our "separate lives" together....I hope that makes sense.
