Thursday, March 13, 2003 by princesshirmer | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

Hi Everyone, Is there a newer version of Desktop X? Mine is V1.3Build 305, I just downloaded Snarphs DX and it said it was done with a newer version. If so, where do I get the newere version? Thanks much.

Hi Princess, all you have to do is download DX 1.95 from Component Manager. It is alpha version.
Gadget Girl thought Princess would just love snarphs DX theme

Princess, it is a program in Object Desktop where you can centralize all your downloads. You can manage all your programs and all new updates.
Gadget Girl hopes that she explained that properly, maybe someone else with expert knowledge could explain better than I

Jennifer, what did you purchase?
Did you purchase the whole Object Desktop suite for $50 or did you just purchase Desktpo X by itself? Or did you not buy anythng and are just using the shareware version of Desktop X?

1. If you bought just Desktop X, then go to that page https://www.stardock.com/support.asp and enter the email address you used when you bouhgt it, and an email will be sent to you with a download link for the latest version. Not sure what the latest stable version is though. You might have the latest one.

2. If you purchased the whole Object Desktop subscription, then you have access to all the latest versions, including all the beta versions that are not otherwise available to anybody else. When you purchase the Object Desktop subscription, you are given a link to download "Component Manager" that you use to download all the other stuff.

3. The shareware version stops a version 1.2 for now.

Well, I can always export my explanations too, except it's gonna cost you when it passes through Customs.

Thank You Paxx for the information, I did NOT buy the whole suite, guess I should, make's more sense. But what happens to my current DX program that I already paid for? Will it overwrite it? Gadget Girl you did a great job explaining it to me.. By the way, my Logon "Orange Rose" didn't make it, I sent in the wrong format. I have a sick horse, so I haven't had much time to spend on the computer to fix it. Hopefully soon.

Jennifer, if you purchased Desktop X already, you get a discount on the upgrade to the whole Object Desktop suite: only $34.95 instead of $49.95 : https://www.stardock.com/order.html/

Gadget Girl doesn't think that it will cost anything through Customs because Gadget Girl lives also in QC !

Oh cool. Then I don't need to export it, I'll just send it through Poste Canada. You should get it some time next month, if it doesn't get lost somewhere.
