Nothing in life is free, stoobear. Learn that lesson and learn it well.

actually Copperdeck II and a number of Treetogs and others that are commercial quality are just that... "Free" while there are also non-commercial producing skinners who happen to be very good at what they do, if you don't think so, try it sometime, that share their work which is also "Free" unless taking the time to actually look is considered paying a price?

conversly, learning graphics applications, boning up on artistic abilities, then learning to apply your art work into a skin of theme or bar, wallpaper, icon pack, etc is also another option, but I guess that would be considered a price because of all of the applications needed to be purchased to do it?

anyway...

that out of the way, did you happen to look to the right of the main page and see the list of top producers?

You could start there, work your way through, and then browse around for others work to see if you like anything, if you have any problems getting something to work, you come to the board here and many if not all people here will be more than willing to help support your efforts in making use of what you find, and guess what, for free

anywho... color me gone, out to the board with me...

Stoobear, if you have a helmet, I suggest you put it on, as you're about to get hit with a full scale rant, simply because greedy selfish pricks like you irritate the hell out of me.

Why the hell shouldn't skinners get paid for their work?!
No-one goes to a graphic designer company, or a web developer and says "Hey build me a site" or "Make me some flyers" and then when he gets a quote for the price, says "Why should I pay that?"
Oh please! And if the amount of 'crap', as you put it, being uploaded really really reeeeaallly bothers you that much, why don't you remove your head from your ass. It'll give you a better view of the screen so you can create your own skins, which obviously will be the greatest thing ever constructed in the entire universe. Alien visitors will probably visit Earth just to download your work.

I'd love to spend a day living in your small world, I really would.

hehe - Hippy I got angry too. I wrote a long response and decided not to post it. I figured it was just feeding a troll and I'd rather see this thread disapear down the list. however I must commend you on your restraint.

Wow Hippy, I couldn't have expressed my opinion any better then you did. And I credit Jafo (and the rest of the moderators) for alowing the post to stand. Its true that this is a family site but sometimes it is necessary for reality to become viewable.

Like you said, feeding trolls only gets you larger piles of crap.

But almost all the skins are free. What are you talkking about? There are maybe a total of 5 or 6 skins that aren't free. What the heck are you talking about?
Even if yo don't want to pay for skins or themes, which is your right and I respect that, there are thousands of free skins, and a whole lot of EXCELLENT skins. A great number of them are even better than any skins you may choose to purchase.

I've noticed that this guy makes one inflammatory statement and then disappears....
Methinks he just gets off on sitting back and watching everyone go off on his comments.

Hippy, I had a small chuckle, sometimes us web designers and graphic artists have to squeeze out for our due, too!

But your point was very well made
