Please help

Hi i'm new to skinning only had xp for a short while. anyway I have downloaded the necessaries (window blinds etc) i then downloaded some skins..........I cannot get them to work, what am I doing wrong??? 
I will be bald at this rate. hope someone can help

Gab's gonna make you bald !! 
I do that all the time myself, on the left hand side of the screen a menu will be on the popup.. then second post "right hand side"

It has been some time so I forget what I shut off to disable the right click of the desktop.
Is it the active desktop that was shut off or hiding the icons.
Would anyone be able to remember for me?
