Help with DesktopX...

Friday, February 21, 2003 by Stu L Tissimus | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

OK, I'm trying to make something in DesktopX to work kind of like a Taskbar (Not the actual taskbar... I actually mean the whole bar at the bottom of the screen in a non-customized Windows). I right-clicked the layer, and made the Z-Layer into always on top. The thing is, if I maximize something (IE6, to be specific), part of it will get cut off by my taskbar, whatever you want to call it. Is there some way I can make it so that when I maximize, the window does not get cut off?

There sure is. On the 'Theme settings' tab there's an area marked 'reduce desktop'. Set the bottom value to the height of your bar and you should get the effect you are looking for.

Hope this helps.

...don't forget to check the 'Apply' checkbox in that area...
