Icon Programs

I want to try my hand at making Icons (XP mostly and for IconX Technology). I have been toying with IconWokshop 5.0 Trial Version. Should I go ahead and purchase that or are there better alternatives out there

i've been axiailis... and that seems to be the best for me... I like the way you can convert another image format to an icon... so just draw it, and drag it like in mormegils video...
