Are there any freeware alternatives?

Thursday, February 13, 2003 by Jimilo | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

Heyho,

see, I like the Stardock stuff, but I hate popups...
Are there any freeware alternatives to Windowblinds and/or Winstyles?

thanx in advance,
Jimilo

he must be thinking of the "nag screen"

Anyways, freeware alternatives:
ShellWM: http://shellwm.sourceforge.net/

Not nearly as many options as WB, but it's OK as it is

I like popovers and pop tarts. And popups are cute, in book form.

Jimilo, if your talking about the subscription to WC, it's worth every dollar and it's for 2 years. If your talking about WindowBlinds that is also worth the money. But if your thinking about getting windowblinds, I would go the full couse and get Object Desktop.

1995 don't be a cheap skate... get the whole object desktop, forget about share ware, and freeware... you get what you pay for... and oject desktop is more than worth it... and all of these skins here... they won't work with shellwm... so buy oject desktop... and if you actually parchase object desktop you won't get that annoying pop up...

I would say go with Object Desktop. You get everything for one low price. It's worth it.

Jimilo, seriously...

Depending upon exactly what you are looking for out of the applications you decide to run, you will find the answer to what you want. Sounds stupid stated that way but if you think about it a bit, you will see it relaly isn't.

1 : quality of applications
2 : unbiased, prompt, constant if not instant support from the company
3 : updates
4 : support from other customers and community members
5 : quality of the graphics used with the prodycut developed by it's customers and community memebers
6 : company employee's whom are also users of the products and community members and leaders as well as customers and cummonity members.
7 : 1000's of creative artistic types who are a part of the community.

compaired to?

free? might work, might not, ask your question and I might answer or I might not and if in the end nothing works out for you, oh well, it's free you own it, problems and all...

For me those are the key issues behind spending the money I have...
anyway, just my weak pov for what it's worth...
