I need help createin a dx object for search last time I ask I got no help

well this would be the second time I asked this question in this message board and last time I got no help at all. I need help makein a dx object that opens a seach like the one that you get when you use search in the start menu. I also need to make a turn off and sleep button if anyone knows how to do this please help i have been workin on this for a while now and have yet to figure it out.

you can turn off the sleep button.. is it on your keyboard you mean??? depending on what brand the keyboard is you would go into the software that came with the keyboard... if that doesn't work the way I would do it is by going into your cmos and telling it not to let you put the computer to sleep as for DX I don't know too much about it.. but I have made objects before... let me see if I can do something for you... I will be back..

set the type of object in the properties to be system... and the sub type underneath that... set it to be find... that was an easy one...

well thanks dazman the find button is the help that I needed but as for the power button I dont need to turn it off on my keyboard I am looking for a way of makeing a dx object for my desktop that turns my computer off and a sleep button.

I don't if this will help.. but if you are running the whole object desktop... in the control center folder their are mini apps... that shut down the computer and log off and such... you can link to one of those if that helps

shut down
log off


system commands are listed as options....

not sure if sleep or hiberante is there, but take a look

oh yeah i seem to have one other problem
when I run windows blinds and i try to bring up my display settings they dont come up and when i finally got them to come up and turn winblinds on it doesnt work

well there is no sleep option in the system type of button but there is a shutdown options one so this will work
I would still like to know how to make it a single button if anyone want to help further

a button that I click that will just make my computer go into sleep mode instead of bringing up that window with the three options
