My Golden Retriever pup has a stone for a head

Why is it that smart dogs can be so contrary?
Why is it that puppies think anything that doesn't move is food, and anything that doesn't move fast enough will soon become food?
Why is it that a 8 month old pup runs into a dog one third its size it shys away from it and yet it thinks when you raise your voice after saying, let go of my pants for the 10th time, you really mean, now try and yank my feet from under me?
How come he can flop over, and I mean just kind offlop over like the guy on Laugh In used to do on the tricycle, slam his head into a door hard enough it wakes everyone in the house and he just gives you a "What?" look and closes his eyes and goes to sleep?
I dunno, but being a dog looks better and better

Dogs provide unconditional love to you...
they instictively feel what you are feeling.
they rejoice in the love and good feeligs that you deign to bestow upon them....
a pretty decent companion I would have to say!

Not many dogs out there I dislike, it's usually the 'owners'!
We have a pair of Beagles, 'Chloe' is a lemon and 'Biggles' a tri .... beautiful dogs and neither has a mean bone in their bodies!
Goldies are great, sort of a big hairy Beagle in temperament!

Our Goldens are our children. Our first, a male named Rudy, was perhaps the smartest animal I've ever known. In many ways, much smarter than any human child I've seen. (And way better behaved).
He passed away a couple of years ago.
Our Second, a female named Frannie, is the second smartest animal I've ever known. Very cuddley. Always coming up and placing her head on my knee, looking up with those big brown eyes.
This is a personal thing I know, but I can't for the life of me, figure out why anyone would prefer one of those nastly little human children over a loving, affectionate fur child like a Golden.

Wombat - i had a beagle growing up. he used to leap up, sink his teeth into whatever was drying on the clothesline, and swing wildly 'til it came down into the dirt. my mom loved him dearly.
my golden doesn't do that kind of stuff. he just eats mail, newspapers, and wood furniture. sweet dog though, and always extremely apologetic after he munches.

Boomer was just given a bath and is bound and determined to rub himself dry on everything he can find in the livingroom .
I was supposed to be showing my daughter how to do it, so I had her put her swim suit on and jump i the shower, put boomer in and didn't change. I am as wet or more than she is!!
Someone needs to design a drycleaning vat for dogs. Walk them in at one end and come out dry and clean at the other

Well I found out thing in the living room were not the only thing Boomer decided would be a good place to dry off. My side of the bed including my pillow are far from dry.
I also wonder why it is when I attempt to get into bed he figures that my spot has now become the best one on the whole freaking bed and he is willing to defend his right to it?
Actually not much different than my son on that account, well other than my son didn't bite or try to lick my face off, he just firgued a good pillow fight was in order

Must have been a just seeking some attention!
Our first Beagle was a bitch named 'The Duchess' and she certainly was one!
The very first day we had her home she found some rat poison (left behind the dishwasher by the previous owners of our 'renovator's delight') and was raced off to the Vet .... she was OK but I had to take her everywhere with me to keep up her medication.
Of course, she became 'my' dog from then on .... which caused havoc when I was away for any length of time.
Quite a bit of our furniture came under attack, I reckon she was part Beaver!!!!!
The current pair are a hoot, Biggles plays up and Chloe informs on him .....

I was in the pet store the other day and a little Jack Russell pup almost stole my heart. (I can't have a dog, though) His short attention span blew it, just kept him focusing on the next new face....
My mollie (fish) can't keep her eyes off me, though. 'specially if she is hungry. She knows where the 'fridge is too... that is where the frozen brine shrimp grow.....

Fish are cool, very interesting to watch and they do have personalities at times that can make one wonder just what they think
But never put two Chinese Fighters in the same fish bowl, nope doesn't work out well
