It is on the news now. Something has happened during re-entry and there was a explosion somewhere in Texas.

Nasty. But risk of the trade (or whatever it is called). Car's crash, boats sink, planes crash and space shuttles do to.
Let's hope, for their families' sake, that they figure out what happened fast. The worst thing, aside from the loss crew, must be not knowing what has happened.

What can one say ..... I remember the Challenger.
I've never ceased to be impressed watching a launch or a landing.
