I have never created a single skin for an application or uploaded a single wallpaper, for the simple reason that I just don't know how. But I just wanted to say "Thank You!" to all of the people who take the time to create and upload their artistic creations for people like me to use. I am sure that there are times that you would like to turn off your computers , due to some peoples attitudes and comments. But as I will say again - I, and I am sure many others, thank you for your contributions to this site. If it wasn't for you, I would still be stuck looking at the "Billy Gates 2002" skin for a long time! Keep up the fantastic work - you are appreciated!

Yes, Thanks 007!! I often consider just quitting skinning altogether when the constant negative comments pile up on this message board. I think it's indicative of much of society today that there is so little respect for others. I see it in my everyday life, and I try to escape it by coming here for enjoyment, so you can imagine how annoying it is to see all these people carping and whining over a few dollars for something that gives so much pleasure. I am a Wizop on this site, (Moderator) and I imagine that Stardock would happily give me any of their programs for free if I asked, (they are nice like that.)but I recently purchased CursorXP even though I have very little spare money, because I wanted to give something back to this site which gives me so much pleasure. I have also purchased DesktopX in the past, too.
I feel sorry for the people with nasty attitudes, sorry that their parents didn't bring them up with respect for others, and that they didn't teach them that it's rewarding to earn something rather than just take everything for free. I hope to make my living from this one day, I have already given over 4 years of my work for free, and if I have to give another 4 years to make it, then so be it. I still consider this my hobby, and when someone offers praise and encouragement like you have, it makes it worth it and worth carrying on.
I hope more people can express their gratitude to the fine artists on this site, maybe they can outweigh the negativity that seems to abound recently.

Well said, SpaceAce! I know I feel largely the same way - I've bought the products (Windowblinds, then OD, and CursorXP and a Wincustomize subscription now.. gads!) but I've never contributed much content wise - just a few rambling posts but certainly no skins or anything! My own skills are certainly nowhere near those that you see posted on here.
These guys (and gals!) deserve all the love and respect we can give for 'em for offering up their own creations for everybody, whether you've paid money or not, to use and enjoy - and it's a great thing!
Where would I, or many of us, be without all of the guys here?
(I'd be using one of the many 1/3 or 1/2 finished skins that I never get around to finishing, that's what! =D)

I was blown away when I first came to this site,and I saw all the awesome work by artists like treetog,starone,BoXXi,adni18,starone, MikeB314 and many many more.I am sorry to not list them all.
I am a newbee skinner.
But the aewsome work that abonds on this site and others,is what inspired me to make my own lame attempt at contributing to this site.
These people have opened my mind to a whole new world and i love them for it.
Thanks to all of them from deep in my large still beating Heart.

There are apps that are easily skinned. You could try sysmetrix or rainlendar or better yet, quick notes. Get the hang of the easy stuff first. Find a 'theme' that "suites" you
