What would you say the difference is...

Between the awesome supportive community of Wincustomize and Winamp.com's nefarious troll-ridden rating system? Where did Nullsoft go wrong? A more-than-fair chunk of reviews for winamp skins and plugins seems to be nothing but jealous rambling by people who've never lifted a finger to make one themselves and have no idea how much effort it takes.
The place has been torn to shreds by these people. There's no recovery aside from deleting the whole dang thing. How did it happen? Why is the place an intelligence sink-hole? Anyone have any insight?
On the other hand, Wincustomize, Deviantart and other skinning communities seem to be packed with helpful, supportive people. Even the non-skinners (like myself) offer positive reviews and many, many people appreciate paying for the programs here -- or look forward to it. How is the atmosphere different? What has been done here to make people feel more welcomed and involved?
Just some thoughts and questions from me before heading to bed. Have fun with em

So far I'm betting on Jafo. He's so dreamy :F
I'm wondering how wincustomize managed to attract a more civil group of people. might it be because the software is for sale, rather than winamp.com's free player and the 'free beer crowd' philosophy?

the truth is the reason winamp has so many trolls and we don't is because guys like the not so notorious Scott Sproat get exiled when they act like idiots, nullsoft has no such policy

Eg, that guy who swears Wincustomize.com is the source of his 'scumware' but is at odds to find a causual link. HE wasn't stupid enough to search through every single Logon on this site, present and past...

I have to agree with Action Jay. Jafo is probably the most intelligent one that I've seen so far.And there are a bunch of people on his butt though.

O', go to the joke marathon and my first comment will sound a certain way. See how many can understand my fragmented English. And just think. I lived in the same city and State all my life. Which is in the United States and I still can't talk correct English. It must be all that slag crap we learn from people at Schoolz.
