When an Admin's efforts are derided and belittled by a site member, the chances are that that member really does not have his/her heart into remaining a valued member of the community.

It is not an admin's role to endure disdain on one hand and demand someone NOT leave on the other.

Their choice....free to leave.

What rankles, however is when 'lurkers' who believe they know it 'all' abuse their privilege of being able to 'rate' a person's work[s] by deliberately down grading them.
That is both petty, childish, and malicious, and totally inappropriate on a Community skinning site such as Wincustomize.com.

The majority of members [who contribute/participate on this board] are mature, responsible adults, and I would have expected better from them.

I'm not posting private emails publicly here....it's both ethically wrong and really of no public benefit.

One line, however is relevant so I post it....

"I, and my fellow admins work too damn hard looking out for / after this site and its community to allow any individual or 'group' to mess it up."

End of discussion...

I've watched this develope for a couple months and still don't know everything about it. I'am sure the admins did what they thought was right, but it takes 2 to tango. My question would be; How come only one got shown the door? I think it should have been all or none. My 2 cents. I do miss Angela.

just found this thread. I kinda felt there was some behinfd the scenes things going on that was not on the messege board.

I agree with Ande (except with the "anyone with a brain remark", I am sure people are expressing what they feel and they have brains)

Level heads will out last all of this. There are many good... no great people on this site and I am sure once the brew ha ha is over we will start skinning again (along with other message board activities, politics, and other stuff)

Hey Jafo, I'm just curious...

How does this apply to those of us lurkers who really do know it all? ^_~

Same here, same here - it just took me forever to actually sign up for my own account on the site.

I guess thats common. I waited some months before I singed up also. Could have been in the low 15000.

It doesn't because you don't, OK?...

Just to clarify, in case anyone is ass-uming...I did not exile anyone.

Those abusing their rating privileges may face censure, however.

Present circumstances 'can' change with appropriate revisions of behaviour and conduct, but if it is the decision of someone to leave, then so be it.

When Jafo talks about lurkers, he may be referring to someone like me. I have been around for awhile, I was here and signed up when WinCust opened up. I usually don't have a whole lot to say Unless something really bugs me like this.

I don't speak for Jafo, but if you read his post a little bit closer, the context in which he used the word "lurker" was a person who abuses the rating system. Hell, everybody has feelings, but circumstances and commonsense will over ride them. I would find it very difficult to judge without all the facts. The admins did have and made a decision.

"It doesn't because you don't, OK?..."

What!? I can't believe this! There's no way! I know I do!

Ahem, okay, okay. enough silliness from me. Carry on.

kthxbye, we know what went on on the messageboard and what some people told us, but we don't know what went on between the people involved and the admins. So we don't know everything. Not defending or taking sides, just stating the facts, unless you are privy to the other side.

Ack! WOM - I think you've mistaken me for someone at that moment who actually had, or was trying to make a point. One of the many problems with a textual medium for communications.

The only side I was taking was that of a 'lurker who knows everything'. Sarcastically, of course.

It does, it does, especially when you don't know the other person all too well yet - it's why I always take peoples' reactions to things I say with a grain of salt.
