I had a '57 Firesweep. The automatic transmission lever was buttons on the left hand side of the dash. It wasn't "cool" when a leaf spring broke. I rplaced it, lowered the car down and a torsion rod broke! Then I bought a '63 Studebaker GT Hawk.

a desoto is something from late fifties early sixties kinda like a plymouth but different company lots of fins and crome

Actually it was a division of Chrysler Corp, same as Plymouth and Dodge.
