Tune Up Utilities or System Mechanic or none? Thanks.

What are you looking for it to do for your system? I use Tune Up. I mainly use it for easy cleaning out startup programs and junk files, things of that sort.

I've used both. There are now newer versions of both and was wondering which one does a more thorough job of everything.

keep this stuff away from your computer.
such tools still exist due to the 9x/XP days when Windows was crap and they were actually useful. in the last 10 years Windows made some progress though. my "favorite" bullshit-features are "freeing RAM" (that one actually will make your computer slower as Windows has to load everything into memory again) and "defragging the registry" (pure bogus).
if there is something wrong with your computer, there sure is an other way to fix it.
the only benefit of using such tools is that you might make you feel like an "expert". in medicine the call that "placebo" if i remember correctly.
there is also a chance to screw up your system with snake oil software.

Wise Registry Cleaner and Wise Uninstaller, both free, and they put TuneUp Utilities (which I have owned), to shame.
