Operating system?
40MB is not much if you have a full X theme running with all the bells and whistles.
Some basic system details would help people here to help you as well, not just a plaintive 'help me'.

OS: Windows 2000 + SP3
RAM: 512 MB
CPU: PIV - 2,52GHz
......................what should this help for this???

And my theme has only an online Indicator, and some buttons and a Aqua Bar. All other Themes needs 6-12 MB RAM and have many more Buttons, Bars, Indicators etc.

Sorry - but I don`t think that is normal.

Are You using 1.92a ? It uses more RAM than normal. They will decrease ram-usage to a normal amount with the next builds, as I have read in the newgroups.

Oops, I didn't read properly... The online-indicator (old plugin ?) could cause this... Try to save it as an object, delete it from Your current theme and restart DX. Any better ?

No, that don`t help ---> 39 MB

I use DesktopX V1.1 Build 245 - there expire my Object Desktop Account
