2K Style Icons in XP?

Thursday, December 5, 2002 by coke_ | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

Is there anyway to remove the backdrop from desktop icons?

I.E: My desktop COLOR is set to white, but my wallpaper is multicolored blue, so I can't match the blue, and you can always see the backdrop on the icons..

Is there anyway to make this transparent, like XP?

No, but you could download a third party program to do it. There are a few around. Try http://home.attbi.com/~jguerette/transparent/ or http://download.com.com/3000-2347-10112136.html?tag=lst-0-8

If Coke_ means the background of the text, yes, Windowblinds can make the text background transparent on Win2k.

If he means the alpha blending of the icon, no, Win2k desn't support 32bit alpha blending.
