Outlook hide when minimized bug

Sunday, June 29, 2014 by VEO82 | Discussion: WindowFX

I have seen this happen only when windows fx is enabled on windows 7 and 8.1

On outlook 2010 and 2013 on the system tray icon for outlook there is an option "Hide When minimized", when this is enabled and after you want to launch oulook from system tray, there is an error pop up.

This has been around for a long time but i was never sure what the cause was until i disabled windows FX then enabled "Hide when minimized" and it worked ok.

I prefer to have WindowsFX enabled over hiding outlook from the taskbar but it would be nice to have both.

Please can you take a look and see if you can replicate the issue for a fix.

Thanks! and kudos on a great product!

Yeah,I can duplicate this issue,it definitely a bug. Anyway, you can exclude Outlook though, sans WindowsFX effect(s).

Thanks for confirming the bug, I never knew you could exclude an app, I added outlook to the exclude list but it still happens...

Well, after exclusion,it works now. Are you sure you choose the right one to exclude?? Normally,it should locate at:c:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office15\
