Vote 4 the best crooners

Saturday, November 23, 2002 by @shu | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

OK, here's a poll that most people would like to participate in, rate the three best singers according to you: era, language no bar. If he/she is not well known outside the region, maybe it would help to put in a little description. But mind you, NO GROUPS. just solo artists.

Out of the music I listen to, the 4 I would choose would be:

1. Freddie Mercury (Boxxi will back me up on that one )
2. Bruce Dickinson
3. Rob Halford
4. Devin Townsend

Freddie is one of my favs too. Alongwith Sting (though I still think that some of his best work was with The Police). Though John Lennon heads the list for me.
But most of all, I like Asha Bhonsle, though not many must have heard about them outside India (Asha is the one who sang with Code Red and who inspired the song 'A Brimful of Asha'). She has the seductive voice of a siren, if there ever was one...

craeonics listens to black metal mostly, whose 'singers' aren't exactly known for their vocal talents

1: Freddie Mercury (untouchable in my opinion)

2: Gary Cherone (used to sing with Extreme. Great rock voice)

3: Justin Currie (singer from Del Amitri, Scottish Band)

I really can't think of a voice that affects me more than Mr.Mercury's.
I also quite like Darren Hayes voice, he is the guy that sang with Savage Garden, and now has a solo career.

I believe he was born in Zanzibar, (though I don't know if it is still called that) and spent his last years in Geneva, Switzerland. So which one do you live in Ashu?
