Crazy computer

Well, after a two week ordeal - XP crash, had to take it to the puter doctor and just got it back. Alas, I'm part of the real world again. One good thing out of it all is that I did get a bigger hard drive, but was it worth the crash I ask myself? Hum. Saga continues at a later date. I just hope it stays running this time.

Thanks all. No jebland, had everything backed up. Just a bother to re-install and re-set everything the way I like. Still working on minor stuff right now. Be glad when I can get back to the fun stuff though.
I feel your pain Bangkokboy. Just isn't a picnic. Wish these things were 100% fail proof no matter what you did to them.

i had full tape backups, and it still took me til midnight to get every little thing configured back to where i can stand it. Thank God for good backups!

BKB...
I run 2 drive caddies with an OS in each, and a third drive with my work data...if one OS barfs its lunch I can be back up and running in just a few minutes by swapping drives...

Just out of curiousity, how did you figure out that it was the purifier which hosed your computer?
