Unable to run Office 2013 apps
Wednesday, January 15, 2014 by gevansmd | Discussion: ObjectDock
I installed Office 2013 today and find I'm unable to launch any of the applications from a dock. I tried a single shortcut, flyout folder dock and a standalone stacks dock. From the shortcuck dock or Flyout dock, the app highlights as if it's been selected but never launches. From the stack, it gives me an alert saying the .lnk file can't be found. From Explorer I'm able to launch the same shortcuts.
I installed the 64 bit version, could that be the problem? I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit with the latest OD+ 2.x.
Other 64 bit apps launch properly.

The Excel link: "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office 15\root\office15\EXCEL.EXE"
BTW, launching from Fences also doesn't work.
I'll open a ticket.

If it's Microsoft office 2013 I don't believe it's showing the correct directory. Don't know what windows version you are running but office 2013 sits in the "programs Files (x86) folder. It should also be listed as Office 14, not 15.
Try this make sure you have shortcuts to your desktop. If the desktop shortcuts aren't showing make them show Now drag the icon or icons from each program you want into the dock itself.

I ran an Office repair which uninstalled everything (!), then reinstalled and things are working now. Thanks for everyone's input!

Where does your .lnk point to?
Example:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\LibreOffice 4\program\sweb.exe"
