Filter out authors?
Monday, November 18, 2013 by cde8 | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk
I won't be using any names, but I'm looking to "ignore" or filter out a certain author on the WinCustomize site. There is a section in particular that is just flooded by an individual producing huge numbers of items that I feel are sub-par and a style that I do not enjoy. The result is that I need to go through pages and pages of items to see 2-3 per page by other authors.
Is there something I'm missing that allows me to do this, or is there a way to enact a filter that stops me from seeing certain authors?
Any help is much appreciated.

"Well...I know it ain't me" said the geek as he runs back to his lair.

I don't think so, but that would be a good filter to have.

Couple of things to think about cde8, it may seem like one skinner is flooding a particular gallery. It might be because they are the only skinner that is currently uploading in that gallery. Not every skinner is going be able to please everyone of us with what they upload. The fact that someone is taking the time to make a skin for a particular gallery is good. At some point in time others may see it and start uploading to it.
If you find a skinner that you like in a particular gallery search their name and you will just get their skins.
I've been downloading skins from the library for awhile and trust me, there are ones that I don't download for one reason or another. Does not mean they are not good, others will like them and download them.
One other thing, all skins are moderated (tested to make sure they work and that the are within the 'rules' for uploading. It will be very hard to find a skin uploaded that no one likes.

If you are a WinCustomize subscriber, you can have up to 60 skins per page. That would give you a lot more choices per page view.

On the home page (or under that section of forums), simply ignore threads by that person...that would work for OPs. If you meant replies on threads, there really isn't a way except to ignore a specific member's replies.

Doc, if you read the OP, they want to filter skins, not threads.

RnD...just where do you see skins/wbs/ or any art mentioned?
The OP can be interpreted as referring to posts just as easily.
The only thing it wouldn't apply to is...well...you know.

Doc, it is painfully obvious that the OP is talking gallery and skins. I don't really see any connection to threads at all. I see no need to further argue the point with you.
I think the filter he/she wants would be a good thing.

Please excuse me while I get giddy over the fact that RedneckDude replied to me... You're my favorite. Huge fan.
First, I'm talking about the galleries, not the forums. Second, sorry it took me so long to reply.
Anyway, I know that there aren't always a lot of people that upload to certain sections, but 4-5 per day (almost every day) by two different authors making the same style is a bit of a flood to me. There are plenty of people that enjoy the uploads, but I feel as there are probably many like me that would love a filter such as this.
Thanks for the replies all, hopefully this gets seen by the right people and a filter (or ignore) option is created.
edit: it's none of you that replied, so sleep easy knowing I've enjoyed many of each of your works.
