Wait till they adopt the Apple method...and call each ver after a dog or something.
Of course.... Windows 8 would become Windows Mutt ...![]()

Snake oil????...........
I've been using TuneUp Utilities and JV16 Power tools - not on the same system - for many years...........and never had any issues..........in fact I would recommend TuneUp to anyone............JV16 is excellent also but you have to know a bit more about what you are doing with this 'baby' otherwise you can get yourself in a lot of trouble.
It's true that many of the things that you do with TuneUp can be done manually or with tools already given to you by Microsoft...........but TuneUp gives you a package that does everything in a 'one-stop-shop'................and more.
I make my judgment mainly on one thing..............How responsive the PC is 'before and after'............and I can honestly say that in many cases the difference is very noticeable. Here's a great example of this.............a friend of mine who is an IT expert had an older laptop being used by his kids that was sluggish to hell and he scoffed at me when I told him to run an evaluation download of TuneUp through the rig........Anyway he decided he had nothing to lose and tried it...........about an hour later he called me and was eating humble pie...........He tried it and cleared numerous errors etc etc etc.............cleaned it up and in his words............'bloody thing is running like a steam train now'...............
I guess its 'each to their own'..................

I agree with you leo. It might be snake oil to some but you cannot argue with results, (or I guess you can if you want to) and some will.

Yep, bud...........each to their own.........as they say!
I've got a pretty new top end Qosmio laptop and after a week or so of surfing, updating and whatnot I notice it starts to slow down a little...........but after running a few of the TuneUp utilities thru the machine I can really see a difference..........I also use the free version of PerfectDisk (I've not upgraded the drives to SSD yet) and that also has a big effect on the boot time and responsiveness of the machine and the programs I use. Would not be without either.............
Mind you I must get round to upgrading my drives to SSD...........I installed one on my sons laptop a few weeks ago and his boot time from pressing the 'on' button to all programs loaded and zero CPU is about 20 seconds.............unbelievable. His machine is based on an old Intel dual core whereas mine is Intel i7 rocket. Everything on his machine is quicker.........on a three year old dual core..........Just because I upgraded to an SSD. In all my times of playing with PC's I have never experienced such step forward as I saw with the installation of a $100 SSD.

Yes, like with ASC Pro, I only use about 5 items out of at least 50 tools it offers. Most of it isn't necessary and can even cause problems.
