Why the difference?

I noticed that the message viewer in the WC Browser basically loads the message inside of a web page. It would be quicker to just download the text and have the WC Browser format it.
Essentially what I would like is for it to be like how I access newsgroups in Outlook Express. I especially would like being able to do subthreads so as to easily keep track of which posts are in reponse to which other posts.

As for all those cool emoticons, I did those with text for close to a decade before anyone started substituting them with graphics.

Back to the subject of the WC Browser: I was under the impression that the 1.0 version was free for everyone in addition to having a second version for subscribers. However, my free version now says (Evaluation Day 2: of 30). PS, I have twice tried to subscribe to WC, but Stardock won't accept my card even though every other store does *shrugs and throws hands up with helpless look on face*.

although the message board here is really really fast (as long as there is nothing else 'web-related' is happening on my box at the same time)
