.exe
This will be an install program that will do everything automatically. Just double-click it.
.scr
This is the actual screensaver executable file. Copy it to your Windows directory.
.zip
Extract the zip file using WinZip or similar. You will probably then have a .exe or a .scr file, which you can handle as above.
After installation, your new screensaver should show up in the list in Display Properties. If Display Properties was already open when you installed your screensaver, you may need to close it and re-open it.

I don't use the Office Shortcut Bar myself (and at the moment I am on a machine at work that doesn't have it installed) but AFAIK the only connection it has with screensavers is that you can put a button on there that will immediately launch your default screensaver.
I don't know if it will help our 'bold' friend to get his screensaver installed...

Also very way sorry about the bold, but you are luckly it wasn't uppercase as well cause I love the UPPERCASE & BOLD combination and have had to go cold turkey with the uppercase cause of the "screaming" thing.

On my drive it was in the C:\WINNT\system32
So if you have a screensaver that didn't install itself you can put it in here just as long as it is a actual sceensaver file with the .scr extention.

Your screensavers maybe installed, you just can't see them in display properties list.
