Windows 7 and Windows Updates
Sunday, October 6, 2013 by kona0197 | Discussion: Personal Computing
So I have noticed that this computer I am fixing for a friend works better if I don't install any updates. So my question is do I really need to update the machine? As long as I use a good anti virus solution shouldn't I be OK?

No. If you have a valid (like factory install) installed OS and have lost your PID, you can run it and it will tell you what key was used/activated.
The only thing that is going to recover the number of your torn sticker is sacrificing a chicken over your keyboard.
EDIT - !@#$%, the other replies didn't show until after I posted this. No biggie..

Uvah -
I must confess, that eMachines rig I had came with WindowsME. I'm quite certain it cost me a couple hundred thousand brain cells. Ones that I could sure use about now.
