A Blog is a short name for Web Log. It's a web site in which someone (the blogger) keeps a log. This can be simply a log of the blog owner's daily activity to a log of topics that interest the blogger.
Such log entries range from posting an interesting URL with a short sentence or two, to complete and full, full-blown essays regarding a given topic.
Many blogs also offer a comment section where, after reading a log entry a readers can comment and create a discussion amongst themselves and the blogger over the given log entry.

i wrote a standalone, cross-platform blogging program for those who don't want to run their own server (and configure php/mysql/perl/etc) or use any of the third pary hosting sites...
