is there a secret to getting the semi-transparent windows to work?

i tried the stuff on tips and tricks and still no transparency. i am using xp with all the cool stuff turned on. any ideas?

WindowBlinds? You must go to Explorer Tools/Folder Options menu and select Use Windows Classic folders as well as enabling semi-transparent explorer windows in the Advanced settings dialog and checking the Explorer backgrounds option.

an application called WindowFX from Stardok will do all the job for you. Also givim shadow to the windows, if you want.
