Why is it that there are no laptop PC's or Mac's that have a 22" screen? To big right??? Well I was thinking they could have attachments to the main screen that expands it to that size. Then, when ready to go home, take the attachments off and close the laptop. The attatments could be snapped on when you want and takin off when you want. Or how about a snap off screen and snap on a lrger screen and when your ready to go, just close it up and put it in a specail bag.

I'm thinking of a thin plastic screen that can be folded or rolled. Now that would be cool and could be big as well!

It'd be a hastle. Do you really want a bigger screen for a "laptop"? The point of a laptop is so that you can have a computer that you can take anywhere. 15" is big enough for me. Thats my opinion(obviously).

I mean a screen that would be regualar size but if you wanted bigger you could just attach a bigger screen to it or attacch 3 pieces (one for each side) so it could be bigger. It woud be cool for presentations on the plane/train/bus/limo/SUV/office... yadda yadda yadda.

Hello Joe, I'll explain what willis was talkin about.. Laptop was supposed to be built so u can take it anywhere and use it, while ur long away from yuor home and ur beloved desktop 
Laptops does get thinner in widths, but the screen, i think 17' is very big, unless the laptop it self is thin. Like u said, you can actually attach another moniter to your laptop, but thats only when you bring your moniter where your laptop goes while u can jus use your laptop main screen with out no problem (unless it has some problems..)

you *could* (if you were really crasy on the idea), go buy yourself a 21" flatscreen monitor, and attatch it to the external monitor port, if your laptop has one. I know thinkpads generally do. I dunno if anyone makes matrox-style, dual-monitor video cards for laptops, but if so you could dual-monitor, and have both the 15" and the 21" running. Granted a 21" flatscreen is gonna cost ya more than you wanna pay, and you'd ahve to plug it into the wall somewhere...
p.s. flexible, even disposable, monitors are in early development by numerous companies.

I was talking about how you could have a bigger screen for your lappy. *IF* they make dual monitor video cards for mobile computers, your could just pack around a flatscreen of the size you want (well-packed, I'd hope). I have a dual monitor (Matrox G450) card for my desktop, But I don't know whether or not they make them for laptops.
Otherwise, you'd could get a laptop with an external monitor port, and just use a bigger, standard, monitor wherever you are working. My thinkpad, and all the others I have seen have a port in the back so that you can hook up to a standard desktop monitor when you are at home or work or wherever. That way you could have a nice 19" or 21" monitor for working at your desk, and still have the portability when you are on the bus, travelling, or whatever. That seems to be the most-used option for people who use laptops as their primary machine.

For Macinosh they do. You can have a separate portable flat screen for those presentation on the bus/train/plane/SUV/Limo

Those peices could be stored easly in a bad because of thier size. OR a one peice screen that snaps on to replace the regular screen.
BTW that is one of the reasons I was bying a Mac laptop was that sometimes for lack of space or I am on the go I do not want to have a desktop (for ovious reasons) and I could just attach via a cable to a large screen. It is still personall and while not really that offordable (they want 2000) I will need it for my up and coming needs.

I'm laughing as I imagine a laptop with a mini projector that pops out and projects the image onto the old type roll-up (as Bill_Sawyer mentioned above) movie screen! There might even be that little telescopic rod and hook gizmo. If you want it bigger still, detach the projector and move it! Hey, I guess we'd need to get the operator out of the way though.

I saw a digital slide projector at OfficeMax the other day. It was freaky, I still haven't fathomed how it works. All I could think of is how many people would buy it to have wall-sized pr0n...
