Wow! Looks like my ISP got the promised higher speeds going now!

Went up almost 20Mbps in download and 4Mbps in upload today! Yeah!

I'm waiting for the NBN [National Broadband network] to be connected here. Apparently download speeds of 70mb/s to 80mb/s and upwards are possible
Somebody in Tasmania was recently bragging of speeds up to 98mb/s on the NBN, but I'd be happy with my current quota at 50 - 60mb/s if the price was right. I've heard that some people have sacrificed download/upload quota to get the highest speeds, but that makes no sense to me... having 98mb/s and using up a monthly quota of 12gb in the first 5 minutes... like the boastful Taswegianwho suddenly found he was relegated to dialup
Nope, that's not for me. I'd settle for something less spectacular speed-wise to have a larger quota that lasts the month... cos 12gb is bugger all these days.

Just upgraded to a Doxcis 3.o Wireless Modem/Router, provided by my ISP.
Somehow, I get more speed from wireless than from wired.

Would be amusing to archive this thread, and peek on it in 10 years, to laugh at all of us thinking these speeds are fast. ![]()
"Remember when we all thought 100mb/s was fast?" And we'll laugh heartily.
Moore's Law. Whee!

I was getting aroundng 7.4 Mbps until early Feb. when BT offered to upgrade to infinity for free
"BT Infinity has upgraded its network of fibre optic broadband technology to deliver the internet at groundbreaking speeds of up to 76Mb making it 8x faster than the UK average. This means you can enjoy a faster online experience, like downloading films in the time it takes to make popcorn!" What was in email they sent me.
seems it is a mix of old and new so could go faster if you had less old but compared to what had before more than happy the upload speed is great when uploading a video before was very poor upload speed so even a short video took ages to upload.
