Problems with Systray

When I first installed LiteStep, all my Systray icons were displayed, but now I can only see the Task Manager icon in my systray. I did my own systray and still, the only icon visible was the Task Manager. I use another theme, let's say Simplicity, and still, only the Task Manager icon.
How can I fix this? I want my volume icon, my scanner icon, my quicknotes icon...god dammit, I want my Messenger and ICQ icons!

Depending on the age of the older one, coding 'protocol' changed for the newer ones...eg...MaxPopupWidth became PopupMaxWidth.
Things like that 'may' make the transition less 'simple' but check through the module docs for details and all will be well...

I installed that version of LiteStep you said, rshepard, and still the Systray will only show the Task Manager icon only. What am I doing wrong? Should I put a special command on the step.rc for it to show the other icons?

Here's a look at the systray config from ny theme- see if there's any significant differences with what you're running:

SystrayBorder 2

Well, I'm not home right now, so I can't tell you if I have it like that...except for that noSystray command, which I don't have in my configuration.
Still, if I can't get it to work, I will send systray to hell and work with shortcuts for the systray icons...if that can be done, but I would really love to work with systray, instead.

one thing you can try- comment out all the systray config lines- just leave the Loadmodule statement and see if you get the icons with the raw default settings. I don't think the nosystray line will make a difference; in fact I'm not sure the command is still supported.

Ok, I will do that and let you know if it did work, in about...uh...11 hours from now. Yeah, yeah, I work long hours (16 hours, to be exact).

Ok, I DID comment all the config lines and still nothing...the goddamned systray will only show the Task Manager icon.

Working properly in Win XP Pro.
Theoretically, if you comment out all the lines you 'should' end up with the default systray position...top-left of screen, going 'across'.
Try commenting out all the modules being loaded except for...popup.dll, desktop [or jdesk].dll and the systray...and see what happens.
It 'could' be some tray-saver proggy or something that you have loaded...

I just have popup2.dll and desktop2.dll in the theme I'm making, and whenever I load systray.dll without the config commands, it gives me just that one icon...

I did put the NoSystray line in and nothing. I commented it out, and nothing.
I am running Win98.
The strange thing is when I first installed Litestep, the icons showed, but then, after a couple of days, kapoot!
Another thing I noticed...whenever I boot explorer as the shell and then change to Litestep in the same session, the icons appear. But when I boot Litestep directly, they don't show. Weird and frustrating.

How are you getting into LiteSTEP?
You're not running it from the Explorer shell are you?

Sounds like you have an old build- go here:
http://shellfront.org/lsdev/
and pick up the latest Indie LS build. Drop it in over your existing Litestep core files
and see if that doesn't solve your problem.
