Transparant MDI buttons

Sunday, August 18, 2002 by Lecrayon | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

Has anyone tried to make the MDI buttons transparant and succeeded? Do you have to code more than the MDI controls section, eg the personality section? Somehow I cant make the buttons appear transparant while using the magic pink and enabling transparancy in the MDI controls and the mouse over doesnt work either. The preview in skinstudio however shows the buttons as transparant. I hope someone is able to help.

Hi Joe, MdiControls is a coding section in skinstudio in which you can define the behaviour of the MDI buttons. Somehow the behaviopur is different than I coded though..alpha=255, trans=1, mouseover=1..and eeer it doesnt work... It's a pop-in WiseOldMan, the place to be when it comes to getting help ist still WC.

Sorry to here that Lecrayon. Have you tried the chatroom. The board is kind of dead on Sundays.

I don't think you can have transparency on MDI buttons with bitmaps using magic pink. You can use transparency with them if you use alpha blending with targa files though. However, since they always appear on the menubar image, why not just include the menubar in the background of the mdi buttons and not use transparency at all?

wow, thanks mike, I will try with a tga file then Yep, including the colour would be easy to do, but the barbackground is a gradient fill with stretched image...

Set MDITransparent = 1 in the [personality] section.
