why is it when i install an icon package...its in 256 colors? my computer is set for 16 bit, and it doesnt look right...

What OS are you using?

You might want to check your Icon settings, through Display Properties.

I read on irc that the order your icons are in makes a difference. What I mean is...Open an icon file with microangelo or something... you might see several versions of the same icon in the file at differing color depths, sizes etc. Windows will grab the first one that has the right size it needs. So, if the first 32x32 icon is 16 bit, that's which one it will use. (this info is second hand and interpreted by me, so take it with a grain of salt

iirc, you can set w2k to 24bit. if so, give that a try.

i tried 24 bit, but the problem is, ony the icons are 256, and the rest of my computer is 16...how do i fix that...?
