Okay, I just went outside, it is ,was, 5am at the time. I could not figure why my remote starter would not work, so I had to manually start my vehicle, almost forgot how. Anyway, I get in turn the key and it barely is running, kinda half running. I noticed it was cold, so I pulled up the outside temp, It is freaking zero out there. No temperature. Is that not the end of times..
So, after five minutes of trying to warm the thing up, I still have no heat and the check gauges light is on due to no oil pressure, yet the temperature gauge reads warm.
Problem: Frozen radiator, thick gummy oil not moving around , lots of valve clatter.
Solution: Go back inside, turn on computer, and stay home. No room needs painted that bad I say.
Please back me up as I will be using this forum as my excuse for work, so I need lots of pity and understanding or my boss will not buy it.
Actually, I just wondered what the weather was like where you all live, I am in Frewsburg New York, and man its cold.

Whats with the math test. Am I back in school. Just convert that complex crap next time. Had me going for a second though, I wondered how stuff burnt when it was so cold. I do not want your climate either, someone got a happy medium?

I go th NOOA site for the weather and have the science section open in my browser. Last year was among the warmest on record since it got started over a hundred years ago, almost everywhere the temps are close to wildly above normal and in other places below normal. Now most, if not all, of the critics where global warming is concerned have changed their minds. Outside temp right now is 12 F. Sunday before last was above 60 F, 21 degrees above the average. When it comes to weather you have to see it over the long term, trends tend to repeat. Over the last several years I have noticed a trend. The seasons appear to be coming approximately two weeks earlier give or take a day or two and some of the storms that happen during the change over have become quite fierce so it is no wonder down in OZ country as well as the western US wildfires abound. Yet where some go to escape the cold, on the west coast...they are dealing with snow and freezing temps more often.
What'd you say DT......end of the world? They'd better find that new Earth soon...we're gonna need it!

May I suggest getting your radiator flushed and fresh anti-freeze put in, along with an oil change to lets say a good 5W-30 brand and a new oil filter doortech1?

We beat 'em 2 years ago with 46.2 ....
Penrith (outer suburb) was 46.5.

Yep. yesterday morning it was 4 degrees with a wind chill of -16 and our little Elantra fired right up. 5w20 oil and antifreeze good to 40 below zero, The car can handle the cold a lot better that the driver can. It takes me hours to thaw back out after being outside.
Good old midwest winters, just one long month I like to call Helluary.

Why not work on the 'car' instead?
Build a fire pit to stay warm.
They make portable heaters.
Long extension cords.
Call for help.
Pay someone to freeze for ya.

Clear skys and 60 F outside right now...with a low of 36 F tonight...Tomorrow 57 F with a low of 38 F....rinse and repeat for the next week.

Ah...but we're not talking 'outer suburb'...we're talking City. I'm in Kensington...a couple of K from the CBD ...
Orright, then, Ipswich City... January [don't recall the exact day] 1972, was a tad over 46c... and we were sent home from work [Ipswich City Council] due to the extreme heat. Then there's the city of Longreach, where 40 plus temperatures are a daily thing in Summer... and Mount Isa, Birdsville, etc.

It's bushfire season here....we have about 2 more months of it...
Tomorrow will be 36-ish ...another bad day for firies....
Few days ago in Sydney they had their hottest day ever recorded....46.
For those wondering... C to F is 9/5xC+32=F .... ergo Sydney had 114.8 F.
