Help Kona thread! What's good for one is good for another.
Please.....a family member in need.

Jim Dillard aka RedneckDude started a help uvah thread after my laptop was stolen. Long story short it turned my life around. Thank you ever so much Jim. Now another member of the WC family is in dire straits. I know times are hard for everyone so even a little bit beats a blank. Lets all put our collective brains together and see what we can come up...please!

I used to have a Paypal account. The bank the Paypal account was associated with I no longer have an account at and the Paypal debit card I had has long since expired. So even if you sent something I would have a very hard time using it.

If you no longer have an account, it is a moot point. But my thought was, you can order parts on line. Many take paypal.

kona, from the specs you posted, you can use one of these hyperthreaded P4 cpu's which would give you a considerable boost in processing power. As close to a dual core as you will get with that rig.

or possibly even this one. LINK I'm not real familiar with Intel CPU's to know the different types. 1M vs. 2M and 2.8 MHz vs.3.0
All you would need is a bit of thermal paste to install it. It would drop right into your old mobo and use the stock cooler. If I had 15 bucks to spare, I'd get it for you. Maybe someone else can help out there.

You are welcome, A CPU upgrade would let you keep using the other parts you just put in and could be done in minutes. That is what I recommend for now. I wish I could do more but we are in the same leaky boat as you are. I wish you luck and a better tomorrow.
