Whew.... new day, everything still where I put it. Since I reformatted my computer has stopped seeking the bigger monitor that I didn't get (BoXXi is right, a 15 inch monitor is a pain, when I saw that they were giving them away with new computers for just about $50 more I almost changed my order again). NOW I can say it... YIPPEEEEEE I got my new computer.... >

Sounds like everything is OK now GoodMorphing.
You should look around for a place in your area that deals in refurbished equipment. That's how I got my NEC FE700 monitor. A retailer here where I live called Computer Depot gets them in huge quantities. They come in off 2 year leases from large companies. Computer Depot refurbishes them and sells them real cheap. I got mine for $90.00 (Canadian), which would probably be around $50.00 (US).
It's worth looking into.
In the meantime, enjoy your new system now that it is up and working properly. You'll just have to sit a little close to the monitor for now.

Aren't computers fun? I've just this minute rebooted from a successful BIOS flash which means I can now upgrade from my Athlon 1.4 to a XP2200!!! Yippee! 
I'm real glad I invested in that beefy 450W PSU...
My nerves are still shakey from the BIOS flash though, phew!

Now, I'm so calm about it that I usually go and crack a beer while it's flashing.....Nothing has gone wrong yet with any of my flashing, and I've done about 10 since I first started owning computers.
After all, it just a motherboard. If it messes up, I can always get a new one.

I like the sound of some of the newer boards which have a dual BIOS. One messes up the other takes over. So simple, yet effective solution to that age old problem - dodgy BIOS = fried motherboard...

I'll keep that in mind, Motion! I think this monitor is starting to show some OS ENVY! It wants a redo too! HEH... you know that pie that your system shows you to show how you are doing on space? I used to have only a sliver of space and a big used up pie, now I got a big pie with a tiny chunk taken out! And that's after downloading loads of stuff! I still have to visit my old computer and finalize some things there.

Fuzzy: I recently installed a new hard drive, but my mobo wouldn't recognize the large size. I was told that I needed to flash my BIOS, so I read everything I could about doing it, but then I found something called "Drive Overlay Software", which just tells the BIOS what it wants to hear, and gets on with the job of loading the larger disk at boot up.
Have you heard of this? I am no expert, but I thought it was preferable to flashing! Is there any downside to it?

I've not heard of this "Drive Overlay Software". May be worth getting a recommendation from someone who's used it first before committing to a program which tries to 'fool' the BIOS. Most recent BIOS's recognise up to 80Gb without flashing.
Was your hard drive prepared first? I know some manufacturers such as Maxtor supply software with the drive to enable large sizes. Standard Win98 can only see 8.4Gb of most Maxtor drives out of the box, and NT only 2Gb! XP shouldn't have a problem though.

The singer is Israel Kamakawiwo'ole, a Hawaiian man who was somewhat of a legend over here. It may seem familiar from "Finding Forrester" and various commercials. Motion? I uploaded Selene, Wood_Deco, and much of the Liniation series to a storage place and downloaded them successfully using web folders. I did the same for rustic and it shows up in the folder but not in the windowblinds configuration utility. What do you think went wrong?

Newer and better graphic drivers will improve what you see....even on your old 15" monitor.
