After a successful mission the twin Grail spacecrafts, Ebb and Flow, will be slammed into a lunar mountain and the impacts, hopefully, will be recorded. Boom!

Great.
Instead of designing/planning thing so that they might be returned to earth or Mir and recycled into probes for somewhere else and launched from space, eliminating the need for a huge ballistic missile they are crashed into the moon.
More stupid waste.
