Smoking
Monday, November 12, 2012 by mrs_starkers | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk
Well today is the day I have made my decision to quit smoking after being told I am less than 15% away from having emphysema and I am only 45 I have way too much too live for I want to see all my grandchildren grow up to be adults get married and have their family's I have the gum and lozenges and I am off to the Doctor's on Thursday to get a script for chanpix as well . I am going in with all guns blazing so to speak no pun intended I hope I can do it I know I have talked myself into it that much that I feel I can do it in my mind I don't want to smoke anymore that is how much I have talked myself in to it I am ready to do this . and being how Mark hasn't smoked for 3 years its more support for me as well as going to Kambu medical centre and using their program kicking butts . I look at it this way if Mark can do it I can too
.....

You can do it and you'll be proud when you have!
You go girl!

Should be easier for you than the old man...as he had you around him and still at it.
I guess I'd average about 7 a week .... and I bet for many that'd be about as good as not-at-all. [that's smokes, not packets].
Just think of the money you'll save if you're a pack-a-day or worse...![]()

You can do it.
Ten years ago I was told that I had to have heart bypass surgery.
I gave up cold turkey and I could not be happier.
I am also now a member of the zipper club!
Good luck Mrs S.
Cheers

It took a minor heart attack for me to finally give them up after many previous attempts. Been off smokes now going on 9 years with no regrets.
You can do it!

Best decision there, bonzette! Couldn't be happier you made it!
I'm sure Mark will support and help you. Remember, it's your life; you have a husband, children and grandchildren to enjoy for many, many years yet!.

To do it,you have to change your life. Be ready for fighting with yourself. To win something to mean to lose in something.
You have to do it!!!...Be strong!

there's always something to stress about in life... that ain't gonna change.... have to think of another thing you can do in stressy situations to replace it with....
chocolate...
$100 a fortnight aye..... just think of all the air tickets to Tassie coming your way....
you might get some inspiration from v's thread.... you and Po' can... hold each others hands... virtually....

If you get the munchie, remember...NO CARBS... protein or salad minus tomatoes. Yogurt.
As many times as it takes, it takes. Just keep trying.

Wish you well! The first month is the worst, but it tapers off after that. I haven't smoked since March 31, 2006 and I'm so happy I made the decision to stop - but I still miss it, especially when stressed.
You can do it, girl!
