Best Way for Litestep (on XP) newbie to get started?

I grabbed the latest indie distro, but I'm a bit queasy about trying it without a "failsafe" shell swapper of some kind. Any recommendations? Thanks!

Excellent - thanks. I wasn't even so much concerned that I'd have ShellOn as a shell selector, but I just wanted to make sure I'd have an easy way to manually change shells. At least at this point, I'm bouncing back and forth a lot. As it turned out though, ShellOn is now properly prompting at log-in, so for the moment, I am a happy camper.

Glad to hear your up n running Mark. As far as I hear (cause I'm running win2k rather than winXP)the newest builds of systray2 packaged with the most recent indie builds, seem to be working best. The systray has been a bit of an achilles heel for Litestep since the advent of Win2K. I think it's finally rounding back into shape.

Phar0e is right....particularly the Indie May 30 build [and I assume any later] seems to have the tray behaving....the 'only' queer bit is the icon for the Windows update notification....for me it disappears every time I move my mouse over it.....popping back when I'm not 'looking'...

I notice that one of my most frequently used apps just doesn't want to load into the tray (Advanced Direct Remailer). Otherwise though, once I realized Object Bar's trayserver was messing with it, it looks good. I've been at it all night, tweaking .rc files, etc . . I feel like I learned a lot in a hurry, but I think sleep would be a good thing now.
