What do you like to read?

The crap thread has evolved into a thread about books so I got to thinking about what y'all like to read.
For myself, I read a fair bit of SF. Currently I'm re-reading a bunch of Heinlein - certainly the master. Terry Prachett's stuff is great and sometimes I read Piers Anthony although I like his older stuff better.
Len Deighton (I think I read all his stuff) and MacDonald's Travis Magee books (started on that re a reference from Calahan's (sp) saloon). Ludlum is good as well - Bourne Identity was great but I'm leery of the movie as I expect too much will be lost.

hmmm.. twain biggoted.. an interesting debate i'm of the camp that feels he was trying to point up biggotry and prejudice, and set it up for examination and criticism..

Mig: I seem to recall one of his non-fictional works (about a cross country trip he made) where he compares American Indians to 'coyotes' in a very non-flattering way. I think I gave up on him after reading several chapters of the book.

I enjoy books on Chinese history, philosophy and martial arts.
I also like auto-biographies. Probably my fav's being Jackie Chans' and Michael J Fox' book.
Oh, and not unlike probably every single person on this site, I'm also a Tolkien fan too.

My 'boss' is the BIG reader in our family...currently 132 lineal feet of bookshelf crammed with Fantasy, Horror and SF....she's on my back to build the extension to the house so she can get some more book space....

AJCrowley turned me on to Neil Gaiman. The first book that I read was Good Omens, co-authored with Terry Pratchet. Since then I have read American Gods and NeverWhere, each very good and different.
Migellito, I was a huge Moorcock fan (did you ever listen to Hawkwind?) but he lost me some time ago.
Guy Gavriel Kay has been excellent, did you all know he was a contributing author on Silmarillion? His name is only mentioned once.
Did anybody mention Charles De Lint? Good urban fantasy.
Anybody like to read the weird mysteries that take place in Florida? Tim Dorsey, Carl Hiaacin, Laurence Shames are all so weird.

wow larry, i had no idea you had read moorcock. you really are 'the man.' hehe.. yeah, i've listened to hawkwind, but not the ones where moorcock actually played with them. blue oyster cult also has a song about stormbringer

I liked a few of Twians 'Tom Saywer/Huck Finn' books, but found his other works VERY bigotted.
I'm looking for a Sci-Fi book I read many years ago. I don't remember the title or the author. It was a post apocolyptic tale that centered on a man and his bear friend (the bear could talk - genetic mutations due to fallout). Does this sound familiar to anyone? I would really love to find it and re-read it.
