Now its diapers!

This is getting ridiculous. The Japanese plant that makes the main ingredient blew up. Now the whole world, especially China, is in deep doo doo.

This is meaningless
Bacon shortages are serious

Have you ever wonder how these things happen? Oh sure you get explanations but why do they always sound like slick marketing ploys? Growing up I remember about every three years the frost hurt the orange crops in Florida. Yes I know, things like this do happen, just always sounds so damn convenient.

At least The U.S.A. has its own manufacturing plant, so our asses are covered, so to speak.

When I was a sole parent caring for my kids, there was always a shortage of disposable nappies [diapers].... simply, I couldn't afford them. No, I had to use cloth nappies and launder them myself, and as far as I'm concerned, the parents of this 'convenient' generation ought to go back to the basics and learn how it should be done... without all the 'disposable' plastics and chemicals ending up as landfill somewhere.

Damn straight.
My kids had cloth... and the diapers were always clean and bright, dried in sunlight. Love had something to do with it. "Pampers" indeed...but just who's getting pampered?
My kids never had a rash. Disposable diapers... bloody nonsense.

I used cloth on my kids, and now my son is using cloth for my grandson; although the cloth diapers are engineered way cooler now -- they're form fitting, with elastic in the legs, snaps on the sides, and some strange fabric that both breaths and doesn't allow leaks that covers the absorbent part -- I think the brand name they use on Remington is BumGenius.

I always used terry towelling and soft flannel nappies... the only disposable ones I ever had was the free promotional pack they gave you leaving the hospital... terrible to think of all the bins every day filled with those things... yuk..

Unfortunately, diapers are not just for kids. I work at a nursing rehab facility, and adult diapers outnumber residents 50 to 1.It smells bad enough without storing all those cloth diapers. I like disposable.

Something we all have to look forward to.....
There's a funeral insurance plan in Oz....if you snuff it from old age it pays 15000 ...but if it's an accident you get 45000.
I'd plan to get just old and doddery enough to trip and fall into the Yarra....![]()

This is one of the reasons I didn't employ your "better solution...don't breed" -- I never counted on Social Security to actually be there when I need it, but I DO have 3 children I provided for (and still do at times) who I can rely on to repay the favor for me one day. At least in my family, blood is thicker than water or any insurance policy.

Yeah, me too! I am the painter\carpenter\mechanic. I like getting my hands dirty, but no thanks. I will hope for a short old age . Miserable to end up such a way. Lifes last slap in the face before tossing us out.

Changed many a diaper in my day and bacon definitely smells better! Hope it isn't too much of a bacon shortage!

I thought the babies made the main ingredient...
