Speaking of rugby, played it once. Got hit in the stomach hard, was completely out of breath for fifteen minutes and swore never to do that again. It's a sport of sadists!

On the balance of play, totally justified. Italy scored then sat back!

There is no more favorites on a worl cup, Korea, Turkey and Senecal between the 8 best teams ,shows us that good. Many of the called "favorites", and this includes Brazil, think that they would be the best for ever.

Those new teams plays really well, being very well organized, giving their blood for their countries and for sure deservers to continue in the championchip.

As for me, I think Brazil is being lucky to still be on the competition ( for 2 times we were helped by the judge)

I strongly believe that this cup can be won by a non traditional soccer country and I don´t see nothing wrong with that.

yeah i have to agree, the footy now is nothing like what it was in the 70's (ahhh, who could forget the grand finals from 1970 and 79? i couldn't and i wasn't even born then )

but soccer can get very boring.

you can watch a whole game with no goals scored. the lowest score i've ever seen in a footy game was last year, carlton vs west coast, and the eagles kicked 4.3 - 27 or something like that

Soccer? what's this name? say...
Futbol
Football
Futebol
Corea wins in 8th finals, and 4 million coreans goes to street to celebrate...
Any 4 years all Brasil are pending of their seleçao
Maybe in USA tha major sports are others, but FUTBOL (or SOCCER if you like this name) are the major sport around the world
And Spain is the best team on FIFA's final phase(yes i know, never win , but is my country)
And FC Barcelona is the best team of the Universe (an other countries of course) with permission of Real Madrid, another spanish team.
GO SPAIN, GO BRAZIL, GO home ITALIA, and GO CARLITUS

Yup Dave, US is still in, but the great majority of the americans (around 95%) doesn´t even know about the world cup.

That's an astonishing fact, Renato.
Here in England everyone is football crazy at the moment. Houses and cars are covered in flags and it's a wonderful atmosphere.

FIFA World Cup is even less popular in Canada.
Most people just read about it in the papers but nobody watches any game (exepts in the Italian neighbourhoods, ). At least the USA have a half decent team, but Canada only once qualified for the World Cup, but they got eliminated after the first round.

Maybe as I suggested before, if there was a version of soccer on ice, we 'd get more into it.

Well.....the World Cup just hit an all-time low.
Italians everywhere should be ashamed of themselves, their country, and their team and its management.

It appears that the Sth Korean who scored the winning goal against the Italians actually plays for an Italian team.......only....not any more......he was just sacked.

Obviously, the Italians wanted him to throw the game or something and let them win. Stupid silly prats....he's better-off without such a bunch of childish prima-donnas.

God, I'm disgusted...... [and I thought I'd never have a reason to use that icon]...

The Italian Mafia has a name for that...it is called "vendeta"!

Yes, Paul, this is really astonishing.
