Logons-Aren't they popular anymore?

I don't see a lot of logon activity these days. Are they a fading thing?

LogonStudio Vista works just fine on Win7.
BOOTSKIN of any flavor should NOT be used on Windows7

All LogonStudio does now is use a wallpaper as your logon screen. You can't customize anything with it (due to MS restrictions ).
It is completely pointless.
Note to RND: You do realize that Display Fusion (which I know you use ) does the identical thing as LogonStudio don't you? No sense having LS installed. Perhaps that is why you have weird shit happen all the time. You have multiple programs that do the same damn thing. YRAG is gonna have a heyday with your hick ass now.. LOL

Actually, Buff, I do use DF, knew about the logon feature, don't use a logon because it slows my boot process and boot speed is the biggest reason I installed an SSD.
I boot from desktop to fully useable desktop in 45 seconds.

Since my windows repair my boot is at 36 secs. Haven't re-enabled log-on again yet so I will see how it affects the boot.

I still download , install and use Logons for my Windows 7- My favorite of late is the newest one "Good Morning Bora Bora" by scrating, and alot of FrankieF's selections.. Even though I can use my own wallpapers, it's always nice seeing new themes someone else uploaded. Not every wallpaper looks good as a logon. logons like Madcat's "Serenity" logon have a nice splash design perfect for a logon.

1. LogonStudio works 100% on 7
2. Anyone with the Software installed can take any picture they like and simply choose it for a logon.... Hence the not so many being uploaded, just use/choose the wallpaper in LS and Voila ! A Logon of your choice.

That is fast!
No SSD. I was actually amazed at the change after the repair. I was using Soluto to track the boot before the repair but got rid of it and now either use bootracer or PC Doctor and they both seem to agree within a second or two. I don't want to do anything to mess it up cause my boot was taking over two minutes prior to the repair.

Logon/bootskin.... rats/monkeys ass. Same diff. 
Never bothered using any of them. Could never grasp the point of wasting time on changing something you either never see or only see for a couple seconds.

In the days of xp, I was very into in logons. Since Vista, I haven't bothered since it takes no more skill than changing your wallpaper.....just didn't see the point anymore.

Prior to dual booting with Win 8, my Win 7 installation booted from whoa to go in 27 - 28 seconds.... 3rd gen SSD
Now I'm dual booting it takes about 31 - 32 seconds to boot into Win 7.... about 28 - 29 to boot into Win 8
I do have LogonStudio installed, though I never really use it... logon screen's not there long enough to bother with nowadays.
However, I don't know that applying a logon would slow down the boot process by any noticeable degree.

That it can't be used on Windows 7 systems might be a reason....
